About Amour Jewelry

I have been making jewelry since I can remember.  Having incredibly creative and supportive parents, I was able to explore my artistic urge at a very young age.  Not many kids have their own sewing machine or pottery wheel as I was fortunate enough to have.   When I decided to start my business two years ago, I thought about the types of pieces I enjoyed making the most.  In being a recent bride, I was excited to adorn anything I could with my new monogram.  Also,  having a not so common name, I was always drawn to things that I could personalize with my name on them.  There was never an “Adria” mini license plate for me to buy.   I guess I just figured if I can’t find it than I’ll make it myself.  From that,  I thought, there were probably lots of other brides and mothers that would like to have  something handmade and personalized too.   From there Mon Amour Jewelry was born.  Mon Amour from French translates to “My Love” and that’s exactly how I feel making jewelry!

I strive to create jewelry that is both unique and practical.  If you have a connection to something, you are more likely to wear it.  Especially if you know that a real person put their heart into making it instead of something that is mass produced.   I love the feel of the hand stamping because it is so much more organic than the machine engravers.  You can tell that it is made by a person and the little flaws make it that much more special.

All monogram and initial charms are handmade from Precious Metal Clay (PMC).  PMC is a unique form of silver that allows the artist to form and sculpt metal by hand.  Initially soft and pliable, just like clay, PMC becomes hardened once it is fired in a jeweler’s kiln.  It is polished and antiqued by hand, making each piece different.  The result is a one-of-a-kind, pure silver piece of jewelry.
